Taekwondo AGAMEMNONOS SELF DEFENSE

It’s essential to know how to react in situations where your safety or that of your family is threatened. In cases of harassment or an attack, remaining calm and knowing how to respond can make a big difference. Here are some steps you can take in the event of such situations:
1. Recognize the Threat Early
  • Pay attention to your surroundings and trust your instincts. If something feels off, take it seriously.
  • Stay alert and avoid distractions (like texting or being too absorbed in your phone) when walking in public areas.
2. Create Distance
  • If possible, put physical space between you and the person threatening you.
  • Head to a safe location, such as a crowded area or somewhere with security or surveillance.
3. Set Boundaries
  • In the event of verbal harassment, assertively tell the person to stop. Use a clear, firm tone and set boundaries.
  • If the situation escalates, remove yourself from the scene as quickly as possible.
4. Defend Yourself Physically (if necessary)
  • In case of an attack, use basic self-defense techniques that can incapacitate the attacker long enough for you to escape. Targeting vulnerable areas like the eyes, nose, or groin can be effective.
  • In a dangerous situation, it’s important to fight to get away rather than to try to “win” the confrontation.
5. Contact Authorities
  • If you’re in immediate danger, call emergency services (e.g., 112) for help.
  • It’s also a good idea to report harassment or threats, as they may be signs of a larger pattern of behavior.
6. Self-Defense Training
  • Knowing self-defense techniques can give you the confidence and skills to protect yourself and your family in a dangerous situation. It’s useful to be trained in techniques like striking, escaping holds, and de-escalating situations.
